After Five Long Years: Not Soul Mates, but Acceptance (Extended Version)

This is an 11 page original short story about the acceptance of two sisters who had been estranged for five years. The older sister, Fiona, was always the organizer and disciplinarian of her younger sister, through which the story is told in first person. The sisters meet again at their father’s funeral and somehow make it around the familiar paths which previously had caused conflict. The story contains some background information about the family, their relationships and past events and traits of the sisters and the family. The story is told in first person and includes effective dialogue.
